You Found a Jesus Rock!

G’day, and thanks for stopping by. If you are here, chances are you picked up a painted stone somewhere along the way… beside a bush track, on a park bench, down at the beach, or tucked into a garden bed. That was no accident. Someone painted it, prayed over it, and left it there for you to find.

Jesus Rocks are a simple way of sharing the best news we know. And if you do not know Jesus yet, we would love to introduce you to Him.

Why Rocks?

When Jesus rode into Jerusalem, the crowd of His followers shouted praise to God at the top of their voices. Some of the religious leaders told Him to quieten them down. Jesus answered that if they kept silent, the very stones would cry out (Luke 19:37-40).

So we reckoned we would give the stones a hand. Each one carries His name out into the world, quietly waiting for someone to pick it up.

Meet Jesus

Here is the heart of it:

“Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

Every one of us has turned away from God and gone our own way. The Bible calls that sin, and it leaves us spiritually dead, cut off from the God who made us, with no way back on our own (Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:1).

But God did not leave us there. He loves us, and He wants every person to come home to Him (1 Timothy 2:3-4). So He sent His Son, Jesus, who took the penalty for our sin on the cross, was buried, and then rose again, beating death itself.

Anyone who turns to Jesus and trusts Him is forgiven, made a new creation, and given life with God that lasts forever (John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 5:17).

What now?

If something is stirring in your heart, simply talk to God. Tell Him you are sorry for going your own way, thank Him for Jesus, and ask Him to lead your life from here on. No fancy words needed.

Paint Your Own Jesus Rocks

Want to join in? It is easy, and a lovely thing to do with the kids.

  • Find smooth, flat stones and give them a good wash.
  • Paint a design, a short verse, or simply “Jesus loves you”.
  • Add #jesusrocksau on the back.
  • Seal with a clear outdoor varnish, so the weather does not wash the message away.
  • Pray for whoever finds it, then plant it where it will be spotted.
  • Take a photo and share it in the group.

A quick note: please leave national parks and wild places as you found them. Town parks, walking paths, and community gardens are perfect spots instead.
